Back-To-School Look Book | Collab w/ Life as Liz
It's been so long since I've done a Fashion post and I'm so excited to have one for you today! Today's post is special because it's in collaboration with one of my most awesome blogger friends Elizabeth Gonzalez, the girl behind Life as Liz.
I reached out to Liz a few weeks ago since we were both local bloggers. We knew we wanted to collaborate but didn't know what to do. With school starting back up we thought - LOOK BOOK! On my blog today I'm going to show you three different looks. You can also check out Liz's version of the same outfits over on her blog here!
Let's get started.
Doin The Most
This is probably my favorite look of the bunch because it's the easiest to style but makes me feel the fanciest. Kimonos are a trend I've been trying to get into but haven't been able to find any that I like. I came across this one in Forever21 and for only $15! I'm in love with it. I love styling it with some denim jeans, a nice white body suit and some tan booties.
My trick with flowy outerwear is to make sure everything else is fitted. Create a nice silhouette with your body and accentuate it with flowy pieces. To go a step further and really dress it up pair it with some gold hoops. I chose to straighten my hair but I think this look would look really cute with a messy bun - which means one less thing to do in the morning!
The casual look is super laid back without looking sloppy. When I was in school I never went to school in leggings and sweatshirts - mostly because it was way too hot in Florida to wear that. Plus, when I go to school I want to look and feel my best.
Jeans are a great way to keep things casual. I've paired it with this cute off the shoulder top in a Gingham pattern since gingham is super in right now. Lastly, I threw on some cute, tan flats (super similar to these Free People ones). It's effortless yet put together all at the same time!
The last look is the girliest in my opinion! I paired this cute denim skirt with a bralette-style top and a pink cardigan. I normally get pretty cold in class and like to be able to bundle up. I'd probably style this outfit differently - maybe with a loose white crop top in case you wanted to opt out of a cardigan. However, the concept of it works. It's not quite as dressy as look number one and not quite as casual as look number 2 - making it a happy medium for a day to day look!
That's it for the look book! Again - don't forget to check out Liz's three looks here. While you're there make sure to subscribe to her blog and keep up to date with all her awesome content. I hope this inspires you guys to try something new for the school year! See you next week.
